Wednesday Wisdom No. 7

HERE COMES

Here comes summer,
Here comes summer,
Chirping robins, budding rose.
Here comes summer,
Here comes summer,
Gentle showers, summer clothes,
Here comes summer,
Here comes summer -
Whoosh - shiver - there is goes.

{this moment} ~ A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

Linking up with SouleMama again today. :)

A-Z Macro: L is for Laces...M is for Music

Well hello, Winter!  Woke up to a thin blanket of bright white this morning... My distaste for the cold rather grudgingly gave way to appreciation of the beauty outside my window.  Stay safe and warm today!

Oh yes, and I'm officially half way through my A to Z Project! :)

Another Year

To my chagrin, relief, and great amazement, another year has whizzed by.  Faster than the speed of light, it would seem.  2012 brimmed with business.  A whirlwind of business.  At the moment it's a bit quieter around here, but the busy cycle will begin again soon, to be sure.  I'm just thankful for the little time I have to relax.  The white blanket enveloping the ground is lovely to observe...from inside a warm house.  Getting back to my blog, for however short a time that may be (who knows if you'll see another post again in the near future!) has been enjoyable. Though there are countless things this past year that I wistfully wish I could have accomplished, or even begun, I'm thankful to God for the things I did accomplish, and the time, whether large or small, He gives to do more.  My camera's abode, for example, has long been the shelf, and I hope to dust it off a bit more this year than last.  Before I sign off, I thought this would be a good verse to share in lieu of this new year:

Deuteronomy 31:8 ~ "The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you.  He will not fail you or forsake you.  Do not fear or be dismayed."

Happy 2013!

Emerging

It's hard to believe that winter has actually departed.

The melting ice and snow...

the robins flying in from the south...

the flowers beginning to bud after the long gray winter...

A Taste of Winter

Ahhh winter! Though we are early into the season, there have been a few light snows so far.

When you step out into the frosty, white world, make sure to have a pair of warm, new boots...
things to do...

identify unknown animal tracks (rabbit, I think)...

make some of your own...

watch the buds on the trees going into hibernation for the winter...

photograph everything!
Can't forget sledding, snowman making, and snowball fights.
And here are a few small remnants of the previous season...

a weed, (yet very photogenic)...

more elaborate weeds...

a lone herb peeping through...
So much to see even when it's covered with snow!
*Hot Chocolate or Coffee is a necessity after return from your backyard hike!

One last thing... Happy New Year!
