“We are and remain such creeping Christians, because we
look at ourselves and not at Christ; because we gaze at the marks of our own
soiled feet, and the trail of our own defiled garments.... Each, putting his
foot in the footprint of the Master, and so defacing it, turns to examine how
far his neighbor’s footprint corresponds with that which he still calls the
Master’s, although it is but his own.” ~ George MacDonald

Wednesday Wisdom No. 22
"Flowers, what are they? They are but the thoughts of God
solidified, God’s beautiful thoughts put into shape. Storms, what are they? They are God’s terrible
thoughts written out that we may read them. Thunders, what are they? They are God’s powerful emotions just opened out that men may hear them. The world is just the
materializing of God’s thoughts; for the world is a thought in God’s eye." ~ Charles Spurgeon

Wednesday Wisdom No. 21
No need to search for
myself.
No need to grasp for
meaning
for my life
or purpose
for what I do.
No need to hope for inner peace,
that sense of well-being
for which every heart
longs.
No need to hope that
someone or something
will make me
happy
or give me joy.
I no longer need any
of these things because
grace
has connected me to you
and you have named me
your child.
~ Paul Tripp, New Morning Mercies
